University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Kosice

 

The University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Kosice is the only institute in the Slovak Republic that offers academic training in Veterinary Science.

The English-speaking program operates during the last 15 years.

Today, the university offers two academic programs in English:

  • 6 years for high school graduates
  • 4 years for graduates of similar university faculties who wish to continue their studies.

Both the programs of the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice are completely harmonized with the European Directives and lead to the degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM).

The main mission of the Veterinary School of the University in Košice is to provide high quality undergraduate and postgraduate education based on the creative scientific research and contribute to the international scientific community.

Kosice is the second largest city in Slovakia . Located in the north – eastern part of the country is 400 km from the capital , Bratislava . The population reaches approximately 235.000 . Its stunning beauty has contributed to the city having been chosen as the European Capital of Culture for 2013 .

Kosice is one of the oldest cities in Slovakia with a rich history and is the most important administrative, industrial, commercial and cultural center of eastern Slovakia .

It has an international airport, is a picturesque and peaceful city ideal for students with extensive footpaths and woods . In the center is the most historic sites located in or around the main street.
